Master Class Video Series
Each Reading Parent Masterclass video provides an age-appropriate overview of the reading skills students should be learning in school. This 3 video series suggests ways parents can support, supplement, and emphasize those skills at home at the elementary, middle or high school level. After all, you, as parents are children's first teachers and usually know best your child's strengths and weaknesses, and how they learn best. ​
​All of these masterclasses are meant to help you support your children– it is not to equip you to be a teacher.
Parent Master Class – Elementary
The Elementary level discusses the alphabet, phonics and using basic punctuation correctly. Downloadable support materials in PDF format included.

Parent Master Class – Middle School
In the Middle School Master Class, Janice discusses how students will use the skills learned in Elementary School to decode and understand more complex text. It also begins discussing the importance of recognizing and understanding academic language used in assignments.

The High School Master Class provides an overview detailing the deeper understanding students must have of vocabulary, decoding skills, use of correct conventions, and of academic language.
